COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - Ashton Pankey scored a career-high 17 points as Maryland held off upset-minded Radford 65-60 Friday night.

Pankey made 6 of 8 from the field, including a free throw followed by back-to-back dunks as Maryland broke a 45-45 tie to take the lead for good with just over 10 minutes to play. With a 13-6 run, Maryland ran the lead to 58-51 with 3:24 left.

Terrell Stoglin, the leading scorer in the ACC, made just 5 of 18 from the floor and failed to score over the game's first 18 minutes.

He finished with 16 points, however, and his free throws iced the game with 7 seconds to play, providing the final margin.

James Padgett added 10 points for Maryland (7-3).

R.J. Price had a career-high 22 points and fellow freshman Javonne Green added 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Highlanders (3-11), who lost their 10th straight.

The last of Price's five 3-pointers closed Radford to 61-58 with 1:21 to play, but Stoglin hit a pair of free throws to push the lead to five points.

Maryland won its fourth straight game the first time since it ended the 2009-10 regular season with a seven-game win streak. Still, it was the first game in nine days and second in 16 days for the Terps and the rust showed.

Maryland made just 21 of 57 (37 percent) from the floor for the game. Radford's second-half shooting was its demise, as the Highlanders made just 4 of 26 (15.4 percent) from the floor in the second half.

Price led the Radford's strong first-half effort with 16 points and Green scored nine of the Highlanders' 12 points as they built a 12-6 margin just three minutes into the game.

Maryland rallied back to tie the score at 39 at the half.
