SEATTLE (AP) - James Kinney scored a career-high 31 points, 21 in the second half, as San Jose State defeated Seattle 84-74 in the Elgin Baylor Classic Friday night.
Kinney, who had just eight points in the Spartans' 81-66 victory against Coppin State on Wednesday, eclipsed his 30-point game on Nov. 30 against Texas-San Antonio.
The Spartans (6-8), who won both of their games in Seattle, also got 16 points from Keith Shamburger, 12 from Calvin Douglas and 10 from D.J. Brown.
Aaron Broussard scored 19 points to lead the Redhawks (3-9). Clarence Trent added 15 points and Cervante Burrell scored 12 for Seattle.
San Jose went in front for good with a 10-0 run late in the second half that snapped a 50-50 tie.
