MACON, Ga. (AP) - Bud Thomas scored 16 points to lead Mercer in a 75-59 win over Stetson on Wednesday night, as the Bears tied a season high with their third straight win.
Justin Cecil added 12 points and Jakob Gallon 11 for the Bears (11-6, 3-1 Atlantic Sun Conference), who outshot the Hatters from the floor, 47.6 percent (10 of 21) to 33.3 percent (10 of 30), in the second half to seal it.
Mercer had a 47.1 mark (24 of 51) in the contest, overall, compared to a 37.5 performance (21 of 56) for Stetson.
The Bears outscored the Hatters by eight points in both halves to keep a comfortable cushion, finishing the game with a 39-31 scoring margin over Stetson in the second half.
Adam Pegg scored a game-high 20 points to pace Stetson (5-9, 2-2), who have lost six of seven.
