OGDEN, Utah (AP) - Damian Lillard scored 21 points and Weber State extended its winning streak to eight games by outlasting Montana 80-64 Saturday night in a battle of unbeaten Big Sky teams.
Scott Bamforth added 15 points for the Wildcats (14-3, 6-0 Big Sky), Kyle Tresnak scored 12 and Darin Mahoney had eight points and nine rebounds.
Will Cherry scored 15 points for Montana (11-6, 4-1), which had its six-game win streak snapped. Kareem Jamar added 11 points and Mathias Ward had eight points and 12 rebounds.
The Grizzlies cut a 23-point lead to eight on Mike Weisner's 3-pointer with just over 8 minutes to go, but Bamforth answered with a 3 and another pair of baskets to keep Weber State in control of the game and alone atop the league standings.
Lillard, the nation's leading scorer, passed Willie Sojourner with his first basket to move into fourth place on Weber State's all-time scoring list.
