NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) - Lamont Jones scored 25 points and Mike Glover had 20 points and 15 rebounds as Iona defeated Loyola (Md.) 74-63 Sunday in a game between the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's co-leaders.
The Gaels (14-4, 6-1) trailed 36-31 at halftime but shot 63 percent (17 of 27) in the second half to 29.4 percent (10 of 34) for the Greyhounds (12-5, 5-2).
Glover had 16 of his points after halftime. He scored two baskets during an 11-2 run that gave the Gaels a 50-46 lead with 12:13 remaining.
After Loyola tied the game, Glover scored eight points in a 17-5 run that made it 67-55 with 4:52 left.
Scott Machado had 12 points for Iona and had seven of his nine assists in the second half. Taaj Ridley added 10 points and 10 assists.
Robert Olson made 5 of 8 shots from 3-point range and scored 21 points for the Greyhounds.
