VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) - Obi Emegano scored 21 points, including three late free throws that proved to be the winning margin, and Western Illinois held off South Dakota 47-45 on Saturday to snap a three-game losing streak.
Ceola Clark added 11 points for the Leathernecks (8-11, 3-7 Summit), and Terell Parks pulled down 13 rebounds and blocked Louie Krogman's game-winning 3-point attempt at the buzzer.
Charlie Westbrook, coming off a career-high-tying 32 points in a win Thursday over IUPUI, scored 18 to lead the Coyotes (9-9, 4-6).
Westbrook's layup with 10 seconds left pulled South Dakota within 47-45, and Krogman stole the ensuing inbounds pass. After a timeout, Krogman took a shot from behind the arc but had it blocked by Parks.
The Leathernecks led the entire second half, but neither team shot the ball well. South Dakota shot just 36 percent from the field, while Western Illinois hit 39 percent of its shots.
