HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) - R.J. Evans scored 14 points and Holy Cross used a strong first half to defeat Colgate 65-58 on Saturday.
The Crusaders (15-13, 9-5 Patriot League) never trailed and built a 38-24 halftime lead, cruising to their sixth straight win and third in a row against Colgate. With the win in their regular-season finale, the Crusaders claimed the fourth seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
Holy Cross shot 16 of 26 from the field in the first half and made 48 percent (24 of 50) for the game. David Dudzinski and Justin Burrell each added 10 points for the Crusaders.
Colgate (8-21, 2-12) made only 37 percent (20 of 54) of their field goal attempts, but was 7 of 21 from 3-point range.
Mitch Rolls scored 14 points and Pat Moore added 11 for the Raiders, who have lost two straight and six of their past seven games.
