BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Mitchell Watt scored five of his 20 points in the final 2:22 to spark Buffalo to a 68-64 win over Bowling Green Saturday night.
Trailing 61-60 with 2:22 left, the Bulls (19-9, 12-4 Mid-American Conference) went on an 8-3 run the rest of the way. Watt started the spurt with a free throw and two jump shots, the last putting Buffalo ahead for good, 65-64, with 35 seconds to play.
Watt scored 14 of his points in the second half and finished shooting 7 of 13 from the field.
Javon McCrea had 11 points for Buffalo which shot 47.9 percent from field. The Bulls shot 64.7 percent after halftime (11 of 17) and outscored the Falcons 38-33 in the second half.
The Bulls clinched a No. 2 seed in the upcoming MAC tournament with the win.
