SEATTLE -- Mike Black scored on a driving layup with 3.7 seconds left and Albany stunned Washington, rallying from a seven-point second half deficit for a 63-62 win on Tuesday night.

Abdul Gaddy gave Washington the lead when he rebounded Aziz N'Diaye's missed free throw and scored in the lane with 16.5 seconds left. Albany got the ball to Black at the top of the key and he quickly darted past C.J. Wilcox and was able to score on a scooping right-handed layup to give the Great Danes (2-1) the lead.

Gaddy got off a desperation 30-footer that hit of the side of the rim and handed the Huskies (1-1) a potentially crippling loss with two big games coming up against Seton Hall and possibly Ohio State.

Black finished with 22 points, while Jacob Iati hit six 3-pointers and added 20 for Albany.

Gaddy led the Huskies with 16 points and N'Diaye added 13 but was held to just one point in the second half. The game was played at Albany's pace and the Huskies could never get the tempo they wanted.

It didn't help that Washington missed 11 free throws and was just 3 of 12 from 3-point range. Wilcox didn't make his first 3-pointer until there was 1:39 left and finished with 11 points.

Washington's biggest lead came on Jernard Jarreau's dunk with 13:20 left to take a 45-38 lead, but Albany wouldn't go away. After N'Diaye missed a pair of free throws, Black scored on a drive as the shot clock expired to cut the deficit to 50-47 with 7:09. After a pair of free throws by Simmons, Black converted a three-point play and the Washington lead was down to two. Black scored on another drive, and after Andrew Andrews split a pair of free throws, John Puk's wide open dunk gave the Danes a 54-53 lead.

Sam Rowley then gave Albany a three-point lead with 2:50 left scoring on an inbound pass with 1 second left on the shot clock. Wilcox answered for Washington, but the pick and roll worked again and Puk scored going to the rim.

Wilcox then hit his first 3-pointer of the game to pull Washington even at 58-58 with 1:39 left. Rowley then got sloppy with the possession and was forced into a costly turnover and committed a foul that Andrews converted into a pair of free throws with 1:03 left to put Washington ahead.

Iati got an open look at a 3 and missed, but the Danes kept possession. After dribbling around the perimeter, Iati found Peter Hooley open in front of the Danes bench for a 3-pointer.

Washington played all but the first 90 seconds without starting guard Scott Suggs after he caught an elbow from Black and crumpled to the court. Suggs was on the floor for a few minutes, got up very slowly and was noticeably unstable. He walked off the court with two trainers at his side and straight to the Huskies locker room.

A school official later said Suggs had a concussion and would not return.

Suggs wasn't the only injury for Washington. Desmond Simmons missed nearly seven minutes of the first half after getting a cut above his right eye. He returned late in the half with a large bandage covering the wound.
