KENT, Ohio (AP) - Randal Holt scored 17 points and hit five treys to become Kent State's career 3-point leader as the Golden Flashes defeated Eastern Michigan 77-62 Saturday night, snapping a four-game losing streak.
Holt's fifth 3-pointer, No. 211, came with 11:34 remaining, pushing him ahead of Trevor Huffman (1998-2002) on Kent State's all-time list. He shot 5 of 10 for the game.
The Golden Flashes (12-10, 3-5 Mid-American Conference) made 37.5 percent from long range (9 of 24) against the Eagles' 2-3 zone, including 41.7 percent (5 of 12) in the second half.
Leading 32-26 at halftime, Kent State opened the second half with a 10-0 run, capped by back-to-back 3s by Holt, and eventually led by as many as 21.
Chris Evans added 15 points and Darren Goodson finished with 12 for the Golden Flashes.
Derek Thompson came off of the bench to score 17 points for Eastern Michigan (10-11, 3-4).
