SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Daishon Knight scored 21 points as Illinois State won going away against Division II Sonoma State during the Golden Gate Challenge in San Francisco Friday night 75-58.

Knight shot 80 percent from the field including 3 of 4 from 3-point range for Illinois State (2-4). Zach Lofton added 19 for the Redbirds.

The Redbirds led almost the entire game as Sonoma State could only tie the game once in the first half. Illinois State held the Seawolves to 33 percent shooting for the game, including 3 of 12 from 3-point range.

Sonoma State was led by Justin Herold with 21 and Brandon Glanz had 10 points and eight rebounds.

Illinois State shot 44 percent for the game including 10 of 21 from 3.
