STANFORD, Calif. (AP) Chasson Randle connected on back-to-back 3-pointers to start the second half on the way to 16 points, and Stanford returned from a 13-day break for final exams with a balanced 83-56 rout of cold-shooting UC Davis Saturday night.

Randle made 5 of 6 3s, while Anthony Brown added two from long range and 15 points for the Cardinal (7-2), who made 11 of 20 3-pointers in all and held a 35-32 advantage on the boards.

Josh Huestis had 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and matched his season high with four blocked shots as the Cardinal won their second straight game since having a four-game winning streak snapped against Pittsburgh on Nov. 26.

Huestis swatted two shots in the opening 4:17 to give him 144 for his career. He then added two more blocks to move into a tie for third place on Stanford's career list with Curtis Borchardt (146).

Dwight Powell had 15 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals for his second double-double this season. Two others scored at least six points as the Cardinal earned their fifth straight victory in the series with a fellow Northern California program.

Stanford was slow to find a steady rhythm on the offensive end, but still overpowered the Aggies with height and athleticism on both ends. The Cardinal made 14 of their first 22 shots after halftime on the way to 58.5 percent shooting for the game.

Georgi Funtarov scored 13 points and Brynton Lemar 11 with five rebounds and four assists to lead UC Davis. The Aggies (3-8) are struggling without the presence of second-leading scorer Josh Ritchart, who missed his second straight game as he continues to heal from a lingering lower right leg injury sustained Nov. 15 at Utah. He averages 17.3 points.

Stanford, picked to finish sixth in the Pac-12 this season, leads the overall series against the Aggies 17-1.

The Cardinal played for the first time since losing reserve senior guard Aaron Bright for the remainder of the season with a dislocated right shoulder - the third player lost to a season-ending injury. Bright is scheduled to undergo surgery in early January after getting hurt during a recent practice. He averaged 5.9 points in seven games off the bench.

UC Davis began the game 1 for 17 and missed eight of its initial nine 3-point attempts to fall behind 19-5. The Aggies went nearly eight minutes between their first and second field goals, but bounced back to shoot 29 percent for the half. They trailed 40-23 at the break. UC Davis shot 34.5 percent overall.

Stanford faced UC Davis in its first game after the finals break for the second straight season and third time in five years.

The Aggies' lone victory in the series came on Dec. 4, 2005, in one of the two total matchups played at Davis.
