RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Cedrick Lindsay scored eight points of his 19 second-half points in a 17-6 run to begin the half and Richmond pulled away to beat Old Dominion 67-58 on Saturday night.

Kendall Anthony added 17 points and Alonzo Nelson-Adoda had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Spiders (9-4), who won their third in a row against their former Colonial Athletic Association rival.

Aaron Bacote scored 20 points and Denzell Taylor had 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead Old Dominion (5-8), which lost for the seventh time in eight games. Taylor had all five of the Monarchs' second-half field goals until Bacote's 3-pointer with 2:27 left. That pulled them within 57-48, but the deficit was too much to overcome.

The Spiders scored 17 points off Old Dominion's giveaways and had just seven turnovers themselves.

Lindsay, the Spiders' leading scorer this season at 18.6 points per game, was 0-for-5 and scoreless at halftime but scored on a drive 13 seconds into the second half. Nelson-Adoda followed with a basket for the Spiders, and Lindsay scored again before Anthony's 3-pointer prompted a timeout by Old Dominion first-year head coach Jeff Jones just three minutes into the half.

After the Monarchs closed to within 35-31, Lindsay scored on a drive, followed one of 17 turnovers by Old Dominion with a pair of free throws and Terry Allen followed another turnover by scoring inside.

That made it 41-31, the Spiders' biggest lead to that point, and Old Dominion never got as close as seven again until the final minute on Richard Ross' two-handed dunk with 51.7 seconds remaining.

Old Dominion led 25-24 at halftime despite getting its last points on Ambrose Mosley's 3-pointer with four minutes to play and committing eight turnovers to just three for the Spiders. Richmond, which shot 36 percent (10-28) in the half, got its last points and Terry Allen's driving basket with 3:06 to play.

Richmond's free throw shooting woes continued in the first half as they missed 4 of 5 attempts. Since halftime of their previous game, a 70-69 overtime loss to Ohio, the Spiders had converted just 5 of 17 free throws up to the intermission. They made 15 of 22 attempts in the second half.
