McNeese State defeats Oral Roberts 79-68

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) Craig McFerrin and Ledrick Eackles combined for 45 points and 24 rebounds to lead McNeese State to a 79-68 victory over Oral Roberts Saturday.

McFerrin had 23 points, making 9 of 13 field goal attempts, and 13 rebounds, while Eackles had 22 points, hitting 11 of 14 free throws, and 11 rebounds. Kevin Hardy added 10 points for McNeese State (7-14, 5-4 Southland Conference).

Oral Roberts (10-12, 4-5) led throughout most of the first half and held a 37-33 halftime advantage. The Cowboys had an 11-2 run to lead 44-39 with 14:44 remaining. The Golden Eagles came back to tie the score at 44 following a layup by Jorden Kaufman. The Cowboys then pushed their lead to 62-51 with 6:00 remaining. ORU never threatened again.

Korey Billbury led ORU with 20 points and Shawn Glover had 13.

McNeese State won the rebound battle 48 to 24.
