Vertical Wingspan Draft Range
7-3.25 14-35
  • Wood is one of the most interesting prospects in the draft, and he might have the widest draft range of any player. His length, athleticism, and skill are all extremely intriguing for teams that are willing to wait on a project. However, his frame still needs a lot of work before he'll be ready to play in the NBA, and his basketball IQ isn't the best from playing at UNLV. Still, his upside is tremendously high, and he's worth taking a shot on developing in the first round.
  • At nearly 6-11, Wood is a very fluid athlete that can attack off the dribble and get out in transition. Plus, with a near 9-4 standing reach he'll have tremendous positional versatility once he puts on some strength. His shooting mechanics need some work, but they aren't broken and he could continue to develop into a stretch-4 type. His shot-blocking was also great out in the Mountain West, showcasing good timing and an understanding of how to use his length to change shots.
  • His body needs work before he can be a legitimate NBA player, and he needs to continue to work on his feel for the game. He doesn't always make the right reads defensively, and offensively he had a tendency to hold the ball and look for his own shot. The tools are there, he just needs to get some experience.
