No. 1 -- Size Advantage. The Orange may miss suspended C Fab Melo at some point but it won't be Thursday. UNC Asheville doesn't have a player taller than 6-5 that averages more than 10 minutes. Rakeem Christmas should start at C and this will be a good game for him to gain confidence. The Orange are still one of the biggest teams in the country with five guys 6-7 or taller. No. 2 -- What's the Scoop? Melo was a big loss but Syracuse won't make a serious run in the tournament unless Jardine starts playing better. Jardine is the team leader and floor general but his playing time has decreased over the last four games because he's shot 6-of-23 (26 percent) and has committed 11 turnovers. Expect Jim Boeheim to try and get Scoop going against UNC Asheville. No. 3 -- Back in the zone. The Orange's 2-3 zone was shredded by Cincinnati in the Big East tournament. The Bearcats hit 10-of-22 from 3-point range and Cincinnati shooters were often left wide open. UNC Asheville guards Matt Dickey and J.P. Primm combine to take over 10 3-point shots a game and both hit over 36 percent. The Orange must re-commit to playing defense and shut down the perimeter.
