Thompson's salary 17th among tournament coaches

Coach John Thompson III is the 17th-higest paid coach among the 68 who led teams to the NCAA tournament this season, according to data compiled by USAToday.com. Thompson's total pay in 2011-12 was $1,894,988, making him the fifth-highest paid coach in the Big East, although he will move up to fourth now that West Virginia's Bob Huggins ($2,010,000) is leaving for the Big 12.
