Devon Hall commits to Virginia, reclassifies to 2013
For Devon Hall, it didn't seem like there was any rush to make a college commitment. After all, he was a member of the class of 2014 and had been in the process of making unofficial visits.
However, on Sunday, Hall announced he was committing to Virginia – and reclassifying into the class of 2013.
“They really need a point guard in the class of 2013,” Hall told Scout.com. “It was up in the air. I had a shot to come in right away and play and play immediately.”
Hall, a 6-foot-5 point guard from Cape Henry Collegiate (Va.), is a tremendous pickup for Tony Bennett and the Cavaliers. The lefty has great size for his position and uses his vision to pick defenses apart.
He had about a dozen other offers, including Florida, Maryland, Memphis, Missouri, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Wake Forest, Iowa, Miami (Fl.) and Oregon State. Hall was ranked as the No. 4 point guard and No. 21 overall prospect in the class of 2014.
