Strong guard Marcus Foster commits to Kansas State
Marcus Foster had narrowed his college choices to Kansas State and Creighton, and he took an official visit to Manhattan over the weekend. Foster had an official trip planned to Creighton next weekend -- but it doesn't look like it will happen.
On Monday, Foster committed to Kansas State.
"The academic program they had was amazing," Foster told CBSSports.com. "I know I'm going to get my degree. I love the fans; they love basketball. And I love the coaches; I know they're going to get me better."
The 6-foot-3 guard from Hirschi High School (Texas) also had offers from Oklahoma, SMU, California, Lehigh and plenty of high-major interest. He ran with the Dallas Mustangs over the summer, finding ways to contribute on a loaded and balanced team. When Foster's 3-point shot is falling, he can be very solid. He has good range, and his strength enables him to get into the lane and finish through contact.
Foster is Kansas State's second commitment for the class of 2013, joining Indiana native Alex Etherington.
