As official and in-home visits increase around the country, we're seeing things start to heat up in the recruiting world. Five-star prospect Rondae Jefferson pledged to Arizona on Thursday while multiple players are beginning to trim their lists to a handful of schools. Several high-profile prospects are taking key trips this weekend. Will anyone commit?
Julius Randle trips to Kentucky
People have been waiting for this visit for a couple of weeks, ever since we reported he would trip to Lexington during the Wildcats' alumni weekend. Several former Kentucky stars will be on campus this weekend, as well as rapper/singer Drake, who is one of the celebrity coaches for the alumni game. As for Randle, the No. 5-ranked prospect in the class of 2013 has hosted Kentucky, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Duke and Kansas this week on in-home visits and has another busy week coming up. Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and Florida are each coming to see him next week.

The only other official visit that Randle has planned is Florida in early October; don't expect this recruitment to end soon. Five-star junior Jaquan Lyle will also visit Kentucky this weekend.
Tennessee welcomes visitors on big football weekend
Tennessee hosts Florida in one of the biggest college football games of the weekend, and ESPN's College GameDay will be in town. What better time to show off the campus? Coach Cuonzo Martin knew that, and he is bringing five-star wing Robert Hubbs and top-25 forward Johnathan Williams III to Knoxville for their official visits. Hubbs turned a tremendous spring and summer into offers from Duke, Florida and many others. He has said Tennessee was pursuing him the hardest. Williams has been on several campuses recently, taking official visits to Georgetown and Missouri the last two weekends. Michigan State and Texas are scheduled to get visits, too. Top-25 junior Jalen Lindsey will also visit the Vols this weekend.
Point guards Barber, Jones continue visit tour
Two of the best point guards this recruiting year are Anthony “Cat” Barber and junior college star Chris Jones. It's no surprise that both are considering some of the same schools. Barber and Louisville parted ways this week, but Jones will take his official visit to the Cardinals' campus this weekend. Did Louisville back off Barber to focus on Jones? Barber is down to Kansas (another one of Jones' schools), Alabama and North Carolina State, where the No. 9 prospect will trip this weekend. Jones still has official visits to Florida State and Kansas on the docket.
Could Anya follow Robinson to Pittsburgh?

BeeJay Anya's stock dropped a bit during the summer, but that hasn't stopped colleges from pursuing the No. 41-ranked prospect in the class of 2013. This weekend, Anya will take an unofficial visit to Pittsburgh, where former AAU and high school teammate James Robinson is a freshman. The DeMatha/Team Takeover connection could be a factor. Anya took a visit to North Carolina State at the end of August and will officially visit Ohio State, Indiana and Louisville in the near-future. He also had a busy stretch of in-home visits, including Syracuse, Ohio State, Pittsburgh and others. 2013 guard Josh Newkirk will also be in town.
Miami has big weekend on tap
Jim Larranaga and his staff have been very busy with their targets lately. The Hurricanes hosted Kameron Williams last weekend and had an in-home visit with Josh Hart on Tuesday. This weekend is extremely important, however. Three top-100 prospects will be on campus: JaJuan Johnson, Austin Colbert and Davon Reed. Johnson, the highest-rated of the group, also has Alabama and Texas squarely in the mix. Colbert has a visit planned to Illinois later this monthwhile Reed had a great visit to Wake Forest last weekend. Colbert and Reed have mentioned playing together; they both run with Team Final on the AAU circuit.
Notes:
- A couple more important official visits in the 2013 class include Kendrick Nunn to Illinois and Moses Kingsley to Arkansas. Nunn is a former Texas A&M commit who is strongly considering the Illini. One of Kingsley's AAU teammates, Bobby Portis, is an Arkansas pledge. Austin Nichols is also heading to Vanderbilt after tripping to Virginia last weekend.
- Ole Miss has a big underclassman weekend planned, with five-star junior Leron Black and several of his Team Thad teammates on campus. That includes diminutive point guard Chris Chiozza. ESPN is reporting top-five sophomore Malik Newman could trip to Oxford as well, but we have yet to confirm.
- Minnesota has two top-50 juniors on campus this weekend: five-star wing Rashad Vaughn and rising big man Reid Travis. Both are in-state kids and have plenty of high-major interest and offers.
- Other 2013 top-100 visitors: Quinton Stephens (Georgia Tech), Kameron Williams (Ohio State)
