Four-star big Moses Kingsley gives Arkansas more frontcourt firepower

Despite a disappointing finish to last season, there is plenty of optimism for Arkansas this season -- especially because there are no seniors on the roster. The Razorbacks have loads of young talent on the perimeter, led by B.J. Young and Mardracus Wade.

As a result, coach Mike Anderson has made the frontcourt his main focus for the 2013 class. He already had five-star forward Bobby Portis in tow, but he made a big addition on Saturday when big man Moses Kingsley committed to the Razorbacks.

Kingsley, a 6-foot-9 center from Huntington Prep (W.Va.), is ranked No. 58 in the class of 2013. He ran with Portis on the Arkansas Wings during the AAU season.

The big man was expected to take a visit to Louisville later this month but it doesn't look like that will happen now. North Carolina State, North Carolina, Florida, Memphis and others were also involved with Kingsley.

His offensive game is still somewhat raw but he has consistently showed flashes of his potential. Kingsley has a decent post-up game and knows how to pass out of a double-team. Moreover, he's very good on the glass and has improved his ball-handling. Defensively, he blocks shots and uses his strength to get good position down low.

An interesting aspect to Kingsley is he was recently diagnosed with malaria after going home to his native Nigeria in order to renew his visa. He was in the hospital for several days, including a stint in the intensive care unit. His temperature was as high as 105 degrees during the ordeal. Kingsley has told reporters he is feeling much better now.

With Portis and Kingsley to anchor his frontcourt, Anderson could have a perennial SEC contender brewing in Fayetteville.
