Tennessee lands five-star prospect Robert Hubbs
Robert Hubbs, a consensus top-20 prospect in the Class of 2013, verbally committed to Tennessee after a weekend visit to Knoxville, a source told CBSSports.com early Monday.
CBSSports.com ranks Hubbs 18th nationally.
He's a 6-foot-4 guard from Dyer County, Tenn.
Hubbs was impressive on the spring and summer circuits -- so much so that he subsequently earned scholarship offers from Tennessee, Duke, Florida, Missouri, Memphis and a host of other high-major programs. He's the second five-star prospect Cuonzo Martin has secured in the past nine months. The other is Jarnell Stokes, a 6-9 forward who enrolled last January and projects as all-SEC performer.
"[This is] clearly a huge pickup for Cuonzo Martin," said CBSSports.com recruiting analyst Jeff Borzello. "Hubbs is a big-time scorer, and he continues to get better."
