Four-star forward Phil Nolan is heading to UConn

By Jeff Borzello | College Basketball Writer

Connecticut needed bodies. Phillip Nolan was one of the top uncommitted seniors and needed a destination.

On Thursday afternoon, the two came together as Nolan popped for the Huskies.

He confirmed the news on Twitter.

Nolan, a 6-foot-10 power forward out of Riverside (Wisc.), was one of the last players left out of the class of 2012 top 100 rankings. He is a talented lefty who runs the floor like a gazelle. The long and athletic prospect has expanded his game to include 3-point shooting and also has the ability to put the ball on the floor. Defensively, he blocks shots at a solid rate.

Several teams have jumped in and out of Nolan's recruitment, namely Marquette, Clemson, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Missouri and others. Academics have been questioned with Nolan, but signs point to him qualifying for the fall.
