Washington lands top-50 guard Nigel Williams-Goss

By Jeff Borzello | College Basketball Writer

Washington is heavily involved with several high-level prospects in the class of 2013, and the Huskies landed their first commitment on Wednesday.

Nigel Williams-Goss, a 6-foot-3 guard from Findlay Prep (Nev.), popped for Washington and coach Lorenzo Romar.

“Washington plays fast, which fits what Nigel wants to do,” Findlay Prep assistant Todd Simon told Scout.com. “Coach Romar has been recruiting him at a very young age and following his success. I think he appreciates what Nigel is and knows that he's a good fit for his system.”

Williams-Goss chose the Huskies over Harvard, UNLV, Oklahoma and UCLA. He originally committed to UNLV last December, but decided to open his recruitment after head coach Lon Kruger left the desert for Oklahoma.

He is one of the best defensive guards in the class, and has the ability to play both backcourt positions because of his ability to guard. He is adept at finding teammates in areas where they can score, and has very good basketball IQ.
