Five-star senior Julius Randle will miss the next three months with a fractured right foot, USA Today reported on Monday afternoon.

Randle, a 6-foot-8 forward for Prestonwood Christian (Texas), suffered the injury over the weekend at the Thanksgiving Hoopfest in nearby Duncanville, Texas just outside Dallas.

“It's a minor setback, but Julius is a fighter,” Randle's mother, Carolyn Kyles, told USA Today. “We've already begun to set up rehabilitation for him and he's naturally a little down now, but he'll be back before you know it.”

Randle is ranked No. 6 in CBSSports.com's Top 100, although he can make a case for being as high as No. 2. He had a marquee matchup scheduled for Jan. 21 against No. 5-ranked prospect Aaron Gordon's Archbishop Mitty (Calif.) team, but Prestonwood will have to go the rest of the regular season without Randle. Moreover, Randle's injury is the second major loss for Prestonwood this year. No. 6-ranked sophomore Mickey Mitchell tore his ACL while playing football and is out for the season.

Randle trimmed his list earlier this fall to a final six: Florida, Texas, North Carolina State, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Kansas. He has taken trips to Kentucky, Florida, Texas and Oklahoma and is expected to also visit Kansas and North Carolina State.
