Memorable Moment No. 4: Bo's lefty tribute is right on target
It fell through.
Whether you were a LMU fan or New Mexico State fan was irrelevant. You watched that moment and you smiled, tingled and probably got teary-eyed. What happened was much bigger than the NCAA Tournament. It wasn't just a basketball moment. It was a human moment, a moment about friends, a moment about healing. And though I'm not one who buys into the old somebody-was-watching-from-up-there cliché, if you wanted to insist that was the case in this instance I'd be in no position to argue.
Kimble didn't just hit that first left-handed free throw, you see.
He also hit one in the second round.
And the Sweet 16.
And the Elite Eight.
A guy who was an 82 percent free-throw shooter in college with his right hand was suddenly a 100 percent free-throw shooter with his left hand. It was a perfect tribute with perfect results, and that's why it ranks No. 4 on our list of the top five moments in NCAA history.
