COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Darrin Horn will be paid $800,000 annually at South Carolina under a contract approved by the board of trustees' executive committee.
The former Western Kentucky coach was introduced at a news conference Tuesday. South Carolina spokesman Russ McKinney said Horn received a five-year contract.
The 35-year-old Horn replaces Dave Odom, who retired at the end of the season.
Horn went 111-48 in five seasons at his alma mater.
The Hilltoppers went 29-7 this season, their best since 1993. They won the Sun Belt Conference title and advanced to the West Regional semifinals, losing to top-seeded UCLA.
South Carolina went 14-18.
