Austin Rivers, son of Celtics coach Doc Rivers, has committed to play basketball at Florida, a source told CBSSports.com on Thursday morning.
A 6-foot-3 point guard, Rivers is considered among the top prospects in the Class of 2011. He was one of just two rising sophomores invited to last week's Steve Nash Skills Academy in New Jersey after averaging 14 points as a freshman for Winter Park (Fla.) High last season.
This is the first sophomore commitment Billy Donovan has accepted since Nick Calathes pledged his allegiance to the Gators in April 2005.
