Scarlet Knights suspend seniors Griffin, Inman indefinitely

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers seniors Jaron Griffin and JR Inman were suspended indefinitely on Friday for breaking team rules.

Scarlet Knights coach Fred Hill said the two will continue to participate in team activities, including practices.

Griffin started all 31 games last season, averaging 7.5 points and 3.2 rebounds. Inman started 28 games, averaging team highs of 12.2 points and 32.8 minutes.

"Accountability is extremely important in the development of a successful program," Hill said. "Jaron and JR are team leaders and valuable members of our basketball family. How they respond to what has been asked of them will determine the lengths of their suspensions. We expect them to grow from their mistakes and serve as positive role models for our underclassmen."

The Scarlet Knights begin preseason practice on Oct. 17.
