Harangody looking to bust out of Hansbrough's shadow
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Luke Harangody has nothing against Tyler Hansbrough.
So don't interpret it that way.

"All the time," Harangody said this weekend in between pickup games at the Joyce Center on campus at the University of Notre Dame. "People say maybe I don't get as much respect as he does, that he's the player everyone is talking about. But that's just another thing that motivates me to do more."
Let the Big East be warned.
Because the last thing that league needs is Harangody motivated to do more. The 6-foot-8 post player averaged 20.4 points and 10.6 rebounds last season and helped Notre Dame to 25 victories. He was the Big East Player of the Year and is the main reason the Irish now have a legitimate chance to make their first Final Four since 1978.
How wild is that?
Answer: Just as wild as everything else on campus these days.
Notre Dame football and all its glory is still down despite the 2-0 start, and the Irish will spend the rest of the season being coached by a man who tore his ACL and MCL in the middle of a game. Try telling me that's not wild. Meantime, Notre Dame basketball is at its highest point of the Mike Brey era. So everything is backward and flipped upside down, which I suppose is perfect considering we are in a time where the school mascot is from Mexico.
No kidding.
The Notre Dame Leprechaun is actually from Mexico City.
Is there any doubt this is not your grandfather's Notre Dame?
"His name is Juan," said Irish point guard Kyle McAlarney. "We call him LepreJuan."
