• Derrick Favors
Favors still has six schools -- Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida State, North Carolina State, Memphis and Kentucky -- he's publicly considering, but it has long been believed that he would remain in-state and choose between Georgia and Georgia Tech. In other words, there are probably only two real options. And Telep and Daniels believe Georgia fans are going to end up just as disappointed as when Alabama's Julio Jones caught that touchdown pass in stride the other night.
Where is Favors headed?
Telep: Georgia Tech
Daniels: Georgia Tech
• John Wall
Baylor hired Wall's AAU coach two months ago and gained a huge recruiting edge for the nation's best point guard. But this recruitment has dragged on way longer than Scott Drew initially wanted, and that's not a good thing for Baylor. As I've written before, it's hard to imagine a scenario under which Wall passes on Baylor unless he has some sort of falling out with his AAU coaches (brothers Brian and Dwon Clifton) because the Bears have invested a lot of time and money into the situation. But the heavy hitters -- namely Kansas and Memphis -- remain involved, and Telep and Daniels believe one of the heavy hitters will prevail.
Where is Wall headed?
Telep: Memphis
Daniels: Memphis
• Xavier Henry
Henry's situation is simple: It's either Kansas or Memphis. No other schools are involved. And if things go the way Telep and Daniels think they will then you can probably pencil the Tigers in as a favorite to win the 2010 NCAA tournament because, in that case, John Calipari will have the best backcourt in the nation, something similar to if a school would've had Derrick Rose and Eric Gordon playing together last season.
Where is Henry headed?
Telep: Memphis
Daniels: Memphis
• Renardo Sidney
Sidney is at the top of the list of candidates to skip college in favor of the Euroleague, and everybody recruiting him knows it. Consequently, even the school lucky enough to commit him won't know for sure that it'll get him until he actually enrolls in classes and arrives on campus.
So that sound you'll hear over the next nine months will be Tim Floyd biting his fingernails, anxiously awaiting word on whether the forever-heralded prospect is keeping his passport up to date. Where is Sidney headed?
Telep: Southern California
Daniels: Southern California
• Lance Stephenson
Stephenson broke onto the national scene three summers ago when he battled O.J. Mayo at the ABCD Camp. Immediately, his talent was noticeable. But so was his attitude, and the latter has seemed to overshadow the former in recent years. That's why many of the elite schools have moved on, because they're not interested in dealing with the circus that could follow Stephenson to campus. But again, he's a talented dude. And if the New Yorker proves to be coachable he'll be a huge coup for anybody, especially if that anybody is his hometown school.
Where is Stephenson headed?
Telep: St. John's
Daniels: St. John's
• Kenny Boynton
Boynton might've done more to solidify his status as a star in Las Vegas at the end of the July recruiting period than any player on the circuit. He proved to be a dynamic scorer capable of taking over in big games, and if you were in the gym that Tuesday when Wall, Gaddy, Bradley, Henson, Sidney and Boynton were all on display in back-to-back-to-back games you would've walked away under the impression that Boynton is the top prospect in the country. Thus, it should be no surprise that two of the top programs in the country -- Duke and Florida -- are considered the co-leaders, and this one in particular might be too close to call.
Where is Boynton headed?
Telep: Duke
Daniels: Florida
