Ginyard to miss rest of season for No. 3 UNC

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- North Carolina swingman Marcus Ginyard will miss the rest of the season and seek a medical redshirt because of an injured left foot.

The third-ranked Tar Heels announced their decision on Ginyard during the final minutes of their 108-91 rout of Maryland on Tuesday night.

North Carolina coach Roy Williams also said he suspended sophomore forward Will Graves for the rest of the season for failing to "maintain the standards we expect of a Carolina basketball player."

Ginyard, a senior who is considered North Carolina's top defender and most versatile player, played in only three games as he was slow to recover from preseason foot surgery.
