Freshman Henry sinks 14, top-ranked Jayhawks win exhibition

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Sherron Collins scored 19 points and Cole Aldrich had 13 points and 13 rebounds, leading No. 1 Kansas past Fort Hays State 107-68 in an exhibition game Tuesday night.

Xavier Henry, Kansas' 6-6 prized freshman, made a 3-pointer on his first shot and finished with 14 points against the Division II Tigers.

Collins, one of Kansas' two preseason All-Americans, scored 10 points in the final three minutes of the first half, hitting two 3-pointers, two free throws and a two-point bucket for a 54-35 halftime lead. Tyshawn Taylor had 15 points.

Corbin Kuntzsch had 17 for Fort Hays.

For about a 5 minute stretch in the second half, KU used a lineup that should strike fear into ANY opposing coach.  Cole Aldrich, Markeiff Morris, Marcus Morris, Tyshawn Taylor.  That's 4 players that are 6'6" or taller out there at one time, that's not something you're supposed to see in college.  There were very few shots even reaching the basket with this lineup out there and the ...(more)
