ACC-Big Ten Challenge facts and figures

  •

ACC-Big Ten Challenge logo The ACC-Big Ten Challenge (the conference names alternate as to which comes first each year) is an annual series of games pitting teams from the ACC and Big Ten. For the first six seasons of the series, which began in 1999, the ACC featured only nine teams, leaving two teams from the Big Ten without an opponent. In 2005, the ACC expanded to 12 teams, which left one ACC team unable to participate each season until 2011, when the Big Ten added Nebraska as a 12th member. The ACC leads the series 10-3, with the Big Ten coming out on top the past three years.
