Penn lifts Allen's interim tag as Quakers coach
PHILADELPHIA -- Jerome Allen is losing his interim tag as head coach of the Pennsylvania Quakers.
Allen, who was elevated to the head job when Glen Miller was fired in December after an 0-7 start, will remain Penn's basketball coach, the school announced on Tuesday. Penn went 6-15 after Allen took over, including 5-9 in the Ivy League.
Allen was a two-time Ivy League Player of the Year while playing at Penn. He was a four-year starter for the Quakers and led them to three consecutive undefeated conference records from 1993 to 1995.
The school scheduled a news conference with Allen for Wednesday.
