If a team had been crowned No. 1 in the AP Top 25 Poll this season, it didn't stay there long.
This year the squad holding the No. 1 ranking in the country has lost seven times. If there is anything this college basketball season has demonstrated, it's that any team can be beat and there is not a dominant program.
This complicates matters for the NCAA men's basketball selection committee, which is tasked to craft the bracket for the NCAA Tournament on Selection Sunday, March 17.
Because now the 10-member committee has to select four No. 1 seeds for the regional brackets, choosing between teams with several questionable losses. As part of the CBSSports.com blind test series, we present unidentified resumes and offer you the option to vote. In this installment, we pose the question: Which team is more deserving of a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament?
After voting in the poll on the left-hand side of the page, click on the link at the bottom of this article to reveal the identities of the squads.
In Jerry Palm's latest projected NCAA Tournament bracket, one of these squads currently holds a No. 1 seed, while the other does not. Team A's conference record is 12-2, while Team B's is 13-3. One of these programs is synonymous with college basketball tradition, while the other is from a smaller conference. Both of these teams are ranked very closely in RPI (Rating Percentage Index) and in the top 10 of all teams in the country.
RPI is a measure to order programs based on the team's wins, losses and the strength of schedule.
If you were tasked with giving one of these teams a No. 1 regional seed in the NCAA Tournament, which are you choosing?

Record vs. Top 50 RPI: Indicates the team's record against opponents ranked in the Top 50 in RPI.
Record vs. 51-100 RPI: Indicates the team's record against opponents ranked 51-100 in RPI.
Record vs. 101-200 RPI: Indicates the team's record against opponents ranked 101-200 in RPI.
