Blind Test: Which team deserves a better seed in the NCAAs?

There is no better way to impress the NCAA men's basketball selection committee than to earn a regular-season conference championship.

It's a measure of consistency and quality throughout the course of the season and is a valuable frame of reference for the 10-member selection committee when building the bracket for the NCAA Tournament on March 17.

As part of the CBSSports.com blind test series, we have been offering unidentified resumes and have given you the opportunity to vote on which program you think has the more impressive resume. In this installment, we pose the following question: Which projected regular season conference champion is more deserving of a higher seed in the NCAA Tournament?

Both of these teams are traditional powerhouses in the college basketball landscape and are favorably seeded in Jerry Palm's latest bracket projection. However, one program currently has a seeding edge over the other. The two are ranked very closely in RPI (Rating Percentage Index), with only six spots separating the two.

RPI is a formula used to rank teams based on wins, losses and strength of schedule.

Team A's conference record is 14-3, while Team B's is 13-3.

Team B has three victories against programs ranked in the top 15 RPI, while Team A's two best victories are against the same opponent, ranked 19th in RPI.

Both squads have three losses against teams ranked in the top 50 RPI, but Team A has one questionable defeat against the 244th-ranked team in RPI.
