Cornell 75, Lafayette 72

ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) Lenny Collins scored 17 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Cornell to a 75-72 win over Lafayette Monday night.

Cornell (3-4) committed just one turnover in the first half as it built a 42-35 lead.

The Big Red led by as many as 12 before Lafayette (1-5) cut the margin to just one in the closing minute.

But Jason Canady hit two free throws with eight seconds left to seal the win for Cornell.

Cody Toppert and Ryan Rourke each added 15 points for Cornell.

Jamaal Douglas led Lafayette with 16 points. Sean Kittner scored 11 while Matt Betly had 10 and grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.
