Lamar 85, Arkansas Tech 68

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) Raymond Anthony scored 22 points as Lamar defeated Arkansas Tech 85-68 Saturday night.

Anthony connected on 6 of 14 3-pointers and Lamar (3-2) hit 10 3-pointers.

Arkansas Tech (4-4) had 29 turnovers, which Lamar turned into 33 points.

Jeremy Johnson scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for Arkansas Tech. Terrence Martin added 21 points.

Lamar led 45-37 at halftime and Anthony hit a 3-pointer to extend its lead to 71-54 with seven minutes remaining.

Arkansas Tech went on a 10-1 run to come within 72-64 with 3:44 left. But the Cardinals put the game away by scoring the next eight points.

Thomas Fairley had 14 points and six rebounds for Lamar. Nashid Beard added 13 points, and Teddy Davis chipped in with 12.

Rone Smith scored 17 points for Arkansas Tech.
