CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) Jarred Jackson scored 18 points and Jason Davis added 14 as Lander beat Charleston Southern 67-59 Wednesday night.
Lander (7-4) hit 15-of-18 free throws in the second half and 22-of-28 from the line for the game. The Bearcats shot 46.3 percent from the field and hit 7-of-16 shots from beyond the arc compared with a 38.2 percent shooting effort by Charleston Southern (1-4). The Buccaneers hit 10 of their first 15 shots in the second half but made only three of their last 16 attempts.
Bearcats led 36-22 at halftime.
Nathan Ball led Charleston Southern with 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, while Kurtis Rice scored 13 points and Mario Williams added 11 points.
