BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) Steven Rush scored 20 points to lead N.C.-Asheville to a 78-58 victory over Birmingham-Southern on Monday.
The Bulldogs hit 8-of-21 shots from 3-point range, half of those scored by Rush. Omar Collington and Bryan McCullough hit the remaining four 3-pointers. McCullough scored 11 points for the Bulldogs and Collington had 10.
Thomas Viglianco led Birmingham-Southern with 14 points. Bucky McMillan scored 13, Jakob Sigurdarson had 12 and Shema Mbyirukira had 11. Mbyirukira and Thomas Viglianco also led the team in rebounds with 6 apiece.
The Bulldogs led 35-28 at halftime and gave up only two points to the Panthers in the second half.
