Norfolk St. 56, North Carolina A&T 51

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) Chakowby Hicks scored 20 points with eight rebounds to lead Norfolk State over North Carolina A&T 56-51 Monday night.

Hicks was the only scorer in double digits for Norfolk State (11-11, 9-5 Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference). And while each team had 22 turnovers, it was Norfolk State who took advantage, scoring 25 on North Carolina A&T missteps.

Sean Booker scored 17 for North Carolina A&T (4-20, 3-10), and Demetrius Guions added 10.

Norfolk State led by as many as 10 in the second half, but 3-pointers by Guions and Booker helped pull North Carolina A&T within one with 4:30 remaining. But North Carolina A&T turned the ball over twice in the final four minutes, and Norfolk State sank five of its last seven free throws to get the win.
