ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) Larry Blair came close to a triple-double Thursday night while helping Liberty beat North Carolina-Asheville 92-80.
Blair scored 23 points and had nine rebounds and eight assists for Liberty (13-14, 11-5 Big South), while David Dees added 16 points.
Bryan McCullough led North Carolina-Asheville (11-15, 8-7) with 17 points. Oliver Holmes picked up 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocks, while Omar Collington also scored 12.
Liberty hit half of their 20 3-point attempts, led by Blair and Dees, who were each 3-for-5. Brian Woodson made 2 of 5 attempts on his way to scoring 15 points. Leo Lightbourne chipped in 11 points and nine rebounds to help the Flames to a 46-38 rebounding advantage.
