RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Devin Green scored 19 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as Hampton defeated Coppin State 62-50 in the second semifinal game of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament Friday evening.
Hampton (17-12) will face Delaware State in the tournament championship at noon Saturday.
The game was tied four times during the first half. A last-second layup by West Otis put Coppin State (14-15) up by two, 28-26, at halftime.
The lead changed hands three times to start the second half until a jumper by Coppin State's Henry Colter tied it at 38 with 11:12 left to play. Hampton put together 14-2 run that gave them their biggest lead at 52-40 with 2:29 remaining. Hampton finished out the game going 8-for-10 from the free-throw line.
Bruce Brown had 18 for Hampton, and Jeff Granger scored all 11 of his points in the second half, nine of those from the free-throw line.
Darryl Proctor led Coppin State with 15. Nicholas King added 13, and Colter scored 10.
