LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell extended the contract of coach Pat Flannery, rewarding him for taking the small private school to the NCAA Tournament for a second straight season.
The school did not announce terms of the deal Thursday. Flannery said he signed for another two years.
The extension comes with Flannery having finished the first year of a four-year contract signed last June.
"Everything is right with it. I love this place," Flannery said Thursday. "I am an alumnus. It's exciting."
Flannery has built a program that has developed a penchant for beating college basketball's big names. This past season, the Bison finished 27-5, including wins over Syracuse, Saint Joseph's and Arkansas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Bucknell spent a week in the Top 25, the first appearance in the poll for a school from the Patriot League. Bucknell's biggest win under Flannery came in the 2005 tourney, when the 14th-seeded Bison upset No. 3 seed Kansas.
