Bids by conference

America East (1)
Automatic bid: Albany
At-large: None
Bubble: None
Albany beat Vermont in Vermont's building to win the America East Tournament title.

ACC (7)
Projected champ: North Carolina
At-large: Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech
Bubble: Florida State
A blowout loss to North Carolina plus the A-10 and WAC being two-bid leagues is probably too much for Florida State to overcome.

Atlantic Sun (1)
Automatic bid: Belmont
At-large: None
Bubble: None
Belmont is in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season thanks to a wild shooting performance in the Atlantic Sun title game.

Atlantic 10 (2)
Automatic bid: George Washington
At-large: Xavier
Bubble: None
George Washington will get a low seed just like last year, only this time the Colonials won't be mad.

Big East (7)
Automatic bid: Georgetown
At-large: Louisville, Marquette, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Villanova
Bubble: West Virginia
Did a lack of transition defense at the end of regulation against Louisville really cost West Virginia a bid? Yes, I think it probably did.

Big Sky (1)
Automatic bid: Weber State
At-large: None
Bubble: None
Weber State is in the NCAA Tournament for the 14th time in school history.

Big South (1)
Automatic bid: Winthrop
At-large: None
Bubble: None
What would the committee have done if Winthrop lost to VMI in the Big South Tournament title game? Good thing for Winthrop we'll never have to know.

Big Ten (5)
Projected champ: Ohio State
At-large: Indiana, Michigan State, Purdue, Wisconsin
Bubble: Illinois
Illinois is 1-6 against the top 25, 4-9 against the top 50 and 8-11 against the top 100 at CollegeRPI.com. If Bruce Weber's team doesn't make the field, that's why.

Big 12 (4)
Projected champ: Kansas
At-large: Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech
Bubble: Kansas State
Kansas kept rolling, and the Jayhawks will play for the Big 12 Tournament title on Sunday against Kevin Durant (and Texas).

Bubble: None
Long Beach State won its first Big West regular-season title in 11 years, plus the Big West Tournament title.

Colonial (2)

At-large: Old Dominion
Bubble: Drexel
VCU is the only safe team here. It could be a one-bid league, two-bid league or three-bid league.

At-large: None
Bubble: None
Memphis won its second consecutive C-USA Tournament since losing to Louisville in the 2005 league championship game.

Imagine losing a trip to the NCAA Tournament on a banked-in 3-pointer. The guys at Akron will never get over that play.

Bubble: None
Florida A&M is back in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2004.

Bubble: None
Oral Roberts is in the NCAA Tournament for the second time in two years.

Missouri Valley (3)
Automatic bid: Creighton
At-large: Missouri State, Southern Illinois

Will the selection committee consider how Missouri State was screwed at the buzzer at Saint Louis? If so, that's good for the Bears.

Mountain West (2)
Automatic bid: UNLV
At-large: BYU
Bubble: Air Force
UNLV used a home-court advantage to earn the MWC's automatic bid.

Northeast (1)

Pac-10 (6)

Holy Cross made 16 consecutive free throws down the stretch, beat Bucknell and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Bubble: Arkansas
Florida suddenly looks OK, doesn't it?

Southern (1)

Appalachian State has 25 wins, but it probably won't be enough for an at-large bid.

Bubble: None
Nevada did the WAC a favor by losing, but this team won't have the type of seed it needs to ensure advancement in the NCAA Tournament.

West Coast (1)
Automatic bid: Gonzaga
At-large: None
Bubble: None
Mark Few didn't compromise himself by playing Josh Heytvelt with a bid on the line, and it paid off. That's called good karma, folks.
