IN FOCUS
If the Wildcats are serious about making a move back toward the top of the Pac-10 standings, this weekend is critical. Arizona has dropped five straight games to UCLA over the past two seasons, and beating these Bruins won't be easy. Freshman center Kevin Love is a beast, and he will test Arizona's defense. UA shotblocker Jordan Hill cannot afford to be too aggressive, because Love is adept at drawing fouls, and the Wildcats don't have other interior options. Arizona freshman guard Jerryd Bayless also will face a serious challenge from the UCLA backcourt tandem of Darren Collison and Russell Westbrook.
ROSTER REPORT
-- Freshman guard Jerryd Bayless had 23 points, including a perfect 8-for-8 performance from the free-throw line, and helped limit WSU star Derrick Low to 2-for-9 shooting in the Wildcats' win over the Cougars. He shot 9 for 11 from the field, including 5 for 6 from 3-point range, and scored 26 points against Washington.
-- Sophomore forward Chase Budinger had 22 points, and was 4 for 7 from 3-point distance, in the win over WSU. Two days later, he was better still, notching 25 points, including a 5-for-10 effort from beyond the arc.
-- Sophomore forward Jordan Hill scored only four points but grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked six shots against WSU. He had 16 points and 11 rebounds against Washington.
