GAME REVIEW

Stanford 76, Arizona 60

Arizona 67, Oregon 52

Arizona 64, Oregon State 47

GAME PREVIEW

at UCLA, Thursday, Jan. 15

at USC, Saturday, Jan. 17

vs. Arizona State, Wednesday, Jan. 21

vs. Houston, Saturday, Jan. 24

IN FOCUS
From the start of the 1997-98 season through 2004-05, Arizona owned UCLA, winning 13 of 17 meetings. Since then, nothing. The Bruins have won seven straight over the past three seasons, including a 22-point rout last year at Pauley Pavilion. If the Wildcats hope to end that drought, they will need a big-time performance from junior post Jordan Hill, and point guard Nic Wise must contain his Bruins' counterpart, Darren Collison.

ROSTER REPORT

--F Jamelle Horne shot 5-for-5, including 2-for-2 from 3-point range, on the way to scoring 15 points against Oregon. But he had just six points against Oregon State and missed all four of his 3-point tries.

--C Jordan Hill just missed his 11th double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds against Oregon, then got it by putting together 15 points and 11 rebounds in the win over Oregon State.

-- PG Nic Wise had seven points, five assists and four rebounds, but also seven turnovers, in Arizona's win over Oregon. He followed that up with a modest three-point, four-assist effort against OSU.

I don't think I even made it down to one contest last year. It was nice getting back into McKale, though that "ARIZONA" beneath the block "A" seems kind of redundant and the missing cactus was disturbing.

As for the team, let's just say we should all be very happy if it makes the tournament this year. Parrom was the biggest surprise for me. He's playing tough and

Okay, so last year I worked a PAC-10 blog throughout most of the season before ultimately becoming overwhelmed by it - my computer dying didn't help matters much either... so this year I am wanting to do things a little bit differently.

What I want to do is have a couple of writers tackle various aspects of one blog. Effectively each person has one or two recurring posts that they up ...(more)

College hoops starts in just two days. I can't believe how quickly it has come up.
So without further adeiu, my first PAC-10 Power Rankings of the season.

I would like to do things a little bit differently this year, and make it a poll. So if you are interested in putting your ...(more)

It looks like Rod Odom had a change of heart and switched his commitment to Vandy.  I understand the distance factor, but he should have taken more time to think about his decision before pledging to Arizona.  Terrence Jones likely ruled out the Cats because Odom gave a verbal.  Hopefully this means that Arizona will get an upgrade in TJ or (HOPEFULLY) A-Payne.  I was looking f ...(more)

Hey Cat fans, I am sure we all can't wait for the season. Anyway I am curious if any of you use Twitter? If so Solomon Hill has set a goal to get 1000 Wildcat fans to follow him on it by first home game. No, he is won't sit on there and talk to you all day. He has class, practice, upcoming games, and the normal stuff a college kid his age does. But he does sends a lot of daily updates like how a p ...(more)

It's still very early in his career, but Budinger is playing well. Looks like a steal in the second round.

Currently in Tucson, the only thing more contagious than the H1N1 virus is the hype and excitement of the Arizona basketball program.

The efforts that Sean Miller has put in, by bringing in five 2009 recruits and two 2010 recruits in just five months, has fans raving about the job Miller has yet to do, and apparently has Livengood’s head off the chopping block ...(more)

Rivals.com picked Arizona #6 in Pac-10 and named Nic Wise the league's most overated player.

Hear that Wildcat's I think they're calling you out!

So the season starts in just a few weeks (HOORAY!), so I figured it would be a good time to start sign-ups for non-conference Pick 'Em.

If you are interested in doing the PAC-10 Pick 'Em for non-conference play, just reply to this thread. We will do a non-conference champ, a conference champ, and full-season as well. Additional sign-ups for conference play only will begin a few weeks be

Sure we did an all-time college basketball draft, which was fun and sparked debate, but we didn't get to watch half these players, we drafted on reputation and name.  We know Arizona quite well and I believe we have enough players to draft.  My guess is 8 teams 7 players each.  First come, first in.  Let me know if we should revise the draft or any better ideas.

(POLL) I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in extending the PAC-10 Pick 'Em to non-conference play as well and encompass the full season.

Let me know what you think. Just kicking the idea around right now.
