Golden Bears report: Notes, quotes
--Cal's loss to Oregon State was its first in 12 home games this season and just its second in the past 22 meetings overall vs. the Beavers.
--The Oregon State game was a reunion of sorts for Cal assistant Jay John, who spent 5 1/2 seasons as the Beavers head coach before being fired last January. "I have no animosity," John said, "and I carry no pompons."
--Cal shot 66.7 percent from the field against Oregon, the highest percentage by any team in a Pac-10 game this season.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"It's the Pac-10. You can't come out here without your heart." -- Cal junior guard Patrick Christopher on the challenges of playing in the Pac-10 Conference.
