C Xavier Gibson, a 6-11 freshman, had not scored a point since Feb. 7 prior to getting six points against Clemson on Feb. 28. He connected on all three shots he attempted, as Clemson left him wide open for jumpers. Gibson played only 18 minutes combined in his previous five games before playing six minutes against Clemson.

It's all about seeding now. The Seminoles find themselves in a position they have not enjoyed since 1993. They are in the NCAA Tournament. They do not have to win the regular-season finale, or a first-round game in the ACC tournament to make it. They can play relaxed and celebrate the career of guard Toney Douglas on March 8 as the seniors get honored. The Virginia Tech game will be intriguing, since the Seminoles will be emotionally ready to give Douglas a proper sendoff.

ROSTER REPORT

--F Uche Echefu matched his season high with 18 points, including 14 in the first half, against Duke on Tuesday. He added 11 rebounds.

--C Solomon Alabi produced a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, before fouling out against Duke.
